If you're in the mood for a geeky romantic comedy, this just might be your next guilty pleasure!

He was the scariest man she'd ever seen with the voice of a serial killer. Huge, bald and covered with tattoos like a painted Aztec god , all he needed was some gold jewelry and a bloody altar.

Angelina Martin is a genetic research scientist hoping fruit flies held the key to curing degenerative muscle disorders.

Mathew Saint James looks like he belongs on the back of a motorcycle, but he's actually a rock star in the architectural world. But, while this alpha male is perfectly content with his bachelor status, his little sister has other ideas. Deciding the painfully shy science geek is perfect for the huge, tatted up guy she calls Biggie, tattoo artist Dani is determined to play matchmaker.

Although this is a light, opposites attract romance about a science nerd and a sweet guy with big...ahem...feet, it does contain some not so sweet language and sexy love scenes that some may find inappropriate. So be warned if you're bothered by profanity, or explicit, and at times uncomfortable sexual situations , this is probably not your cup of tea--just a friendly heads up.

This full length romantic comedy is a kindle unlimited free read for KU subscribers and does NOT end in a cliffhanger.

"My heart tripped—oh, God, he is a serial killer—as I froze against his heat, a twisted part of me wondered how he’d do it Like a python, his gigantic muscles, crushing me breathless, or maybe he’d just smother me against his chest… His hard, hard chest… He could probably boink me to death, and I’d thank him all the way to the grave. God, I had the worst survival instincts ever. If my life were a horror movie, I’d be that first splash of blood in the opening scene."

3.0 RATING- I know I'm in the minority on this one...but this was just okay for me. The story seemed a bit immature and hit a major pet peeve of mine: heroines that are hard to like because they're just too pathetic. I know that's harsh but it's also truthful. I love quirky heroines, I love damsels in distress, but I have a low tolerance for ladies that are doormats and who have such low self esteem they spend an entire book putting themselves down. There was a lot of potential here but it just didn't come together for me they way I was hoping. This was a debut novel for this author so there is potential for development

The Science of Loving a geeky romantic comedy edition by Candace Vianna Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

The was a unique story. I don’t think I’ve ever read about a male going to OTT for his girl and falling so fast. It was kind of like...a sweet fantasy.

Smart quiet heroine. Super sweet and funny hero.
I really enjoyed the concept and story. I have read reviews on other books that mention the quality of the editing/proofing. I usually don't let that bother me but in this case it was so bad it took away from my enjoyment of the book. The sentence structure was so bad in places that I couldn't even know for sure whose statement it was supposed to be. I spend my days proofing my own & others' work. I'm not a genius by any means but even I wouldn't let this type of writing go out our doors. With all that said, I enjoyed the story so much I would read this author again hoping there's been improvement.
Good book! The scientist heroine has poor self esteem regarding her desirability & admittedly limited social skills thanks to a real witch of a controlling mother. Enter the hero, a giant tattooed architect with a quirky loving & extremely outspoken family who sees her as more than her job and becomes her biggest fan. He also becomes her defender when he realizes the damage the witch mother is capable of dishing out. I'll check out the author's future books as they "drop".
I enjoyed this book from the very beginning. I loved the dual POVs. Angie was so likeable. I'm a sucker for the underdog and since she has a genius IQ and loves fruit flies...we'll if that isn't a recipe for likeability! LOL! Matt is the kind of man that I wished existed in real life. The supporting secondary characters were awesome too! The chemistry between Angie and Matt was immediate. Angie's doubts made my hurt heart for her but I was so glad that she had strong women in her life and Matt never gave up on her. It was a fast read and am looking forward to reading more from this author!
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were funny and original with a lovable family connection between Matt our hero, his sister Danny and their wonderful free-spirited parents.

The heroine of the story Angie, had lived a sheltered life as an extremely intelligent, nerdy scientist studying fruit flies for medical reasons...can't remember why, something to do with muscles I think. She grew up with a wonderful Dad but an absolutely horrid Mum. Angie's negative self-esteem is directly linked to her Mother's verbally abusive and degrading treatment.

This brings me to my biggest negative in the book...This chick can cry and there was a lot of snot flying. Probably didn't need to know that loving boyfriend was willing to use his shirt as a snot rag.

There were a few spelling and grammar mistakes, but the author has some real talent producing a humorous, smoking hot story so I was able to get past it.

Very happy to read this authors first book and I will definitely be reading more from this author.
I was blown away by this book. I think the genre of the story is romantic comedy with suspense elements. So sue me -- I like comedies. I recommend this book highly.

Though it's the author's first novel, the plot and the characterizations are better than most of the books I see as an editor. One of the things we're told when we start to write is to "show, don't tell." Ms. Vianna applies this advice skillfully and brings her characters to life through action and dialog. The heroine, while shy and lacking self-confidence, is smart and funny, and the hero, a brazen, tatted, muscular guy who looks like the stereotypical "bad boy," turns out to also be smart, and tender, and caring. The friends and family that surround the couple struck me as the type I'd like to be friends and family with myself! These are nice people and they are fun to read about. There are no unnecessary scenes (in my humble opinion), which simply made the story fly by.

I'm looking forward to the next book from this author.
I agree with another reviewer about this book/author having great potential. I love finding new authors, and I am very interested to see where this author is going to go. My problems with this book was that though everyone in it were professional adults they just came off as too immature or like teenagers. Matt acted like a horny teenager or a frat boy who knew all the campus bunnies wanted him. Yet Matt was a kind soul who only wanted the best for Angie, and his protective side was very sweet. Angie was nice, but her need to constantly put herself down grew weary. And after all the BS she went through with her mother(who was a caricature of every wicked stepmother or mother) she flipped out on Matt for wanting to be with her as a couple. When did she get a back bone?

The pace of the book was frantic; there was constant commotion, partying, drama. I just got the feeling that everyone was hyper. I understood that Danny had to be hyper, but one character is enough in that it takes away from good writing/story line. I work in research so that was the reason that I zeroed in on the book in the first place, and the author did an interesting job in writing about the field.

All in all this was an ok read. Would I read it again? No. But I will keep my eye on this author as I am looking forward to seeing what her next book will be like
